The Mildont® 503A has two leaves which dip below the surface of the drain lip when water is draining from the tub or shower.
These two leaves require that the drain opening beneath the drain strainer have a 1.5 to 2 inch wide opening, with approximately .25 inch to .5 inch clearance below the top of the drain for the leaves to open and close.
